Chapter 2312 - 2311: Blade of the Apocalypse
Chapter 2312 - 2311: Blade of the Apocalypse
Ling Feng looked at Mu Mu’s serious expression and couldn’t help but chuckle to himself.
This girl, if you want to eat meat, just say it directly, why beat around the bush!
But he didn’t expose her and nodded, saying, "Alright then!"
"Alright!"
Mu Mu was immediately overjoyed and quickly said, "I’ll hide the stuff first. We can’t take these things into the Ling Family Village; they might get stolen!"
With that, she glanced around, found a relatively tall tree, and hopped right up!
Her petite body, still carrying the basket, climbed even faster than Ling Feng. In no time, she had reached the treetop.
She carefully placed the basket up there, secured it, and then jumped down!
"Not bad, pretty agile!" Ling Feng laughed.
Mu Mu rolled her eyes, "Piece of cake!"
She clapped her hands, looked at the Thunderbird carcass, and asked, "How do you plan to take it back?"
"Best to carry it back, though I’m not sure if I can manage," Ling Feng said.
"You?"
Mu Mu looked at him skeptically and then shook her head, "Forget it, I don’t think you have it in you!"
"How will you know if you don’t try!"
Ling Feng, having eaten a bellyful of fruit, felt his strength gradually increasing, so he confidently walked over, squatted down, and gave it a tug!
The Thunderbird, weighing two to three hundred pounds, surprisingly moved a bit!
"Uh..."
Mu Mu widened her eyes in surprise and quickly ran over, "Wow, you can really move it!"
"Stop talking nonsense and help me lift it onto my shoulder!" Ling Feng said.
"Okay."
Mu Mu nodded, quickly moved to the other side, and then flipped the Thunderbird carcass over with effort.
Seizing the moment, Ling Feng took a deep breath and stood up suddenly!
The tremendous weight on his shoulder made his body sway slightly; he almost stumbled!
Mu Mu was startled and quickly asked, "Are you alright?"
"I’m fine, I can hold on!"
Although it was heavy, Ling Feng gritted his teeth and persevered.
The massive thunderbird pressed against his shoulder and back, its feathers obstructing his view, making it a bit difficult to move forward.
So he quickly said to Mu Mu, "Pick up the curved saber on the ground and clear the feathers in front; I can’t see!"
"Okay, coming!"
Mu Mu picked up the curved saber upon hearing this. Just as she was about to help, she suddenly exclaimed!
Then she immediately asked, "How did you get this knife?"
"Sis, can we talk about this later? It’s really heavy!" Ling Feng said.
"Got it!"
Mu Mu quickly approached and helped cut away the feathers blocking his face.
Ling Feng gritted his teeth and carried the thunderbird, "Let’s go, reaching the edge of the forest is victory!"
"Alright!"
Mu Mu followed him with the curved saber close at hand.
Ling Feng walked swiftly, the pressure from the weight on him was uncomfortable, and he didn’t know how long he could hold out. Anyway, he just aimed to head back quickly; once reaching the forest edge, he could call people from Ling Family Village to help.
With hurried steps, he swiftly moved through the woods, and Mu Mu had to nearly jog to keep up with him.
This girl was secretly astonished, thinking that Ling Xiao’er was really something, having such strength!
There was no time to ask the questions in her mind; she figured she’d find an opportunity to ask after they reached the village!
The two of them moved through the jungle, with Ling Feng not caring about any beasts or anything else, almost breaking into a run.
In the end, feeling his whole body turning weak, his legs numb, and his shoulder in pain, Mu Mu said, "Okay, we can put it down here!"
"Really?"
Ling Feng asked and, without much thought, directly dropped the thunderbird on the ground.
He looked up and realized that just over twenty meters ahead was the open area on the outskirts of Ling Family Village.
Letting out a long breath, he first rubbed his sore shoulder.
Mu Mu, watching him, stifled a laugh, "Tired, aren’t you?"
"Of course, it’s a no-brainer to know!"
Ling Feng glared at her and continued, "I’ll go call for help, you keep watch here; if something comes and steals it, I’ll have run for nothing!"
"Okay!"
Mu Mu nodded, holding the curved saber tightly.
Watching Ling Feng walk away, heading towards Ling Family Village, she looked down at the knife in her hand.
Thinking for a moment, a thought suddenly popped into her head!
While Ling Feng isn’t here, she could leave with the knife, and he wouldn’t be able to find it!
But then Mu Mu dismissed the idea with a sigh, saying, "He’s a good guy, I can’t cheat him, better not."
She fiddled with the curved saber a bit longer, clearly liking it, but ultimately didn’t leave.
Ling Feng reached the open field and saw someone pacing back and forth from a distance, peering out.
As he got closer, he saw that it was Huzi, and he immediately laughed, "Hey, you’re here just in time, go call for help!"
"You, you’re really back?"
Huzi stood there dumbfounded, staring in shock.
Ling Feng laughed, and walked up to pat his head, "Of course, or what would I be doing in the forest?"
"Oh, then why do you need help?" Huzi asked.
"I told you we’d have meat at noon; help me carry it from the forest, it’s only a few steps away, no wild animals around!" Ling Feng said.
"Did you really catch an animal?"
Huzi still found it hard to believe, his eyes wide open as he asked.
Ling Feng got a bit impatient, "Of course, do you think I’m joking? Go get them quickly!"
Saying this, he gave Huzi a gentle kick on the backside.
Of course, he didn’t use much force.
Yet, Huzi made a pained grimace and then scampered off into the village in a hurry.
Before long, Huzi had gathered a few strong villagers.
When they saw Ling Feng, they bombarded him with questions, feeling as if Huzi was pulling their leg.
It was only after Ling Feng repeatedly assured them of the truth, urging them to see for themselves in the forest, that they set aside their doubts and ventured out with him.
A group of them reached the forest, and seeing the huge thunderbird carcass on the ground, they were all stunned.
"Alright, it’s getting late, let’s quickly figure out how to haul this thing back, deal with it and get cooking; it’s going to take time!" Ling Feng said.
"With enough people, we can just use some logs to carry it back!" someone suggested.
"Great!"
Ling Feng turned to Mu Mu, extending his hand, "Hand me the curved saber, I’ll cut down some trees!"
"Oh!"
Mu Mu reluctantly handed the knife over to him.
Ling Feng didn’t know what was up with this girl, nor did he have the time to ask further, so he took the knife and found a couple of small trees, chopping them down with two swings.
Watching this, Mu Mu felt a pang of distress, thinking that it was the Blade of the Apocalypse, and yet he was using it to chop down trees? What a waste, what a waste!
