Chapter 415 - 59: Forest Elves, the Ancient Race’s Path to Divinity
"It’s truly unthinkable. To think a Race like the Elves exists in an Exotic Realm."
"Your Majesty, the aura of these Elves is so very similar to our own Elf Clan. Even their Abilities overlap with ours."
"Of course, compared to our Forest Race, the bodies of these Elves are somewhat weaker, and their reproductive capabilities are lacking."
"But you must understand, this Elf Race does not have the protection of our Father God—or, as they would call them, Deities of the Ancient Species."
"And that’s not even the most crucial part."
"What truly surprises and shocks us the most is that this Elf Race actually has a God of Mortals!"
"That’s right, we mortals can become gods too!"
"A true god, not a Pseudo-God—the kind that cannot ascend to the Star Realm."
"We of the Forest Race have formidable reproductive capabilities, and our strength grows extremely quickly. But this is both our greatest strength and our greatest weakness."
"Perhaps it is because of the Father God, or perhaps it’s because we lack the Power to connect with the will of the world, but in all of endless time, has any mortal from any Race in our world ever truly ascended to the Divine Tier?"
Within the Royal Court of the Forest Elf Clan, atop several ten-thousand-meter-tall trees that grew tangled together, over a hundred Elf Elders were gathered.
’Divine Tier?’
The Elf Queen’s expression flickered.
She looked at the hundreds of Elf Elders in the great green hall, her voice calm as she spoke:
"I heard of this matter some years ago. But these Alien Races from the so-called Star Empire claim that to ascend to the Divine Tier, one must ignite a Divine Fire and raise a Divine Kingdom. Only then can one connect with the world’s will and become an immortal Deity."
"The Divine Fire is easy enough to understand. But the Divine Kingdom... I’ve heard one must travel to the Star Realm and capture Cosmic Dust to forge it."
"But I’m sure the Elders are aware that let alone our own Race, even among the Feathered Insect Race, none of their Demigods have ever been heard of entering the Star Realm."
"In the endless heavens above, a great Power exists. This Power prevents all terrestrial beings from entering the Star Realm."
"Therefore, since this matter cannot be verified, how can we know they are not deceiving us?"
Having said this, the Elf Queen glanced at the Elder Council on either side.
"Of course, I am also aware that ever since the Elf Race came among our people, many Elders, and even our kin, have grown close to them and accepted them."
"After all, though our two Races are from different worlds, we are both children of the forest. Our auras are similar, and our Abilities are nearly identical."
"But that is no reason for us to blindly trust these Exotic Elves."
As the Queen finished speaking, the Elders in the great green hall immediately broke into fervent discussion.
Just then, however, an Elder suddenly stood up and addressed the Elf Queen.
"Your Majesty, it’s actually not that difficult for us to enter the Star Realm."
"Hm?"
The Elf Queen looked at the Elf Elder who had spoken. Her expression was placid as she gestured for him to continue.
The Elder immediately turned to all the members of the Elder Council and said:
"You all should be aware that the Power of our clan’s Demigods, and even the Demigods of other Races, all stems from the grace of our respective Father Gods."
"Therefore, to use the words of those Exotic Elves, whether or not we mortals can achieve Ascension to Divinity has always been under the control of the Deities our respective Races worship."
"Of course, I was skeptical of this at first as well."
"But those Elves also said that in their world, within the Star Empire to which they are a Vassal, the most powerful Dragon God is a Deity of the Ancient Species, as powerful as our own Father God."
"And the Dragon Race under his command? Not only are they individually more powerful than our own Race, but they can also naturally achieve the Divine Tier simply by aging, without needing to go through the trouble of connecting with the world’s will like mortals."
"So, they believe the primary reason mortals in our world cannot achieve Ascension to Divinity is that the Deities of the various Races simply forbid it. They forbid us from ascending, and they forbid us from entering the Star Sea."
"In fact, I won’t hide this from Your Majesty, the members of my clan began conducting experiments with the Elf Race two years ago."
"We have already reached a definitive conclusion."
As the Elder’s words fell, one Elf Elder after another was left completely dumbfounded.
One of the more aggressive Elders was so furious he shot to his feet and roared:
"Elder Val! You’ve gone too far!!!"
"Without Her Majesty’s decree, you dare to heed the words of an Alien Race and even risk encroaching upon the domain of the Father God!"
"Do you have any idea what you’re doing?"
As this Elf Elder’s voice faded, a number of conservative Elf Elders also began to cry out in outrage.
"Without the Father God, our Race could never have survived on this land!"
"Elder Val, this is heresy! A betrayal of our faith! A betrayal of the great Father!"
"Your Majesty, we implore you to punish this arrogant fool!"
"Traitor!!!"
"The faithless should face judgment!"
"..."
Numerous Elf Elders hurled indignant accusations.
The Elf Queen, however, did not speak immediately.
But just then, the accused Elf Elder, Val, spoke in a Spiritual voice that all could hear clearly:
"Call it faithlessness, call it encroaching on the Father God’s domain."
"Everything I have done has been for the future of our Race!"
"So, before you all pass judgment on my supposed blasphemy, perhaps you would first hear the conclusions of my experiment?"
The moment his voice fell, the entire Elder Council was plunged into a brief silence.
For a mortal to become a god.
To become an immortal god.
The temptation was so great that even the most devout believers couldn’t help but show a flicker of interest.
’After all, becoming a God of Mortals doesn’t mean it’s blasphemy, does it?’
