Chapter 133 Knight's Relics, Wizard's Library
Chapter 133 Knight's Relics, Wizard's Library
"I killed Angbi. His brother Angke hasn't finished his seclusion yet. He'll definitely come after me once he does," Lin Wei said expressionlessly, his eyes revealing wariness. "I don't believe his brother wouldn't know that Angbi is coming after me."
Lin Wei wouldn't take any chances; this was based on his many years of experience on the human world. The manor was quiet, with only the occasional chirping of insects and a gentle breeze stirring the curtains by the windows.
"I need to prepare. Right now, I don't have 2999 elemental factors in my brain. Only when I reach that number can I take another step forward and truly become a first-class wizard apprentice." Lin Wei sat in the chair in the study, frowning slightly, his hands unconsciously rubbing his temples, looking somewhat helpless. "Others only need 1000 to achieve mental evolution and become first-class wizard apprentices, but I need even more elemental factors."
"But that's fine too. My foundation is unmatched by others. The later the game goes, the stronger I become." Lin Wei clenched his fist, his eyes revealing determination, his knuckles turning white from the force.
Lin Wei had the patience. He stood up and paced back and forth in the room, his footsteps echoing in the quiet room.
"The premise is that I have to survive." Lin Wei stopped in his tracks, his face serious.
"Achoo!"
After saying that, Lin Wei sneezed a few more times, and his body trembled slightly.
"Those who want to harm me are already impatient..." Lin Wei shook his head, a wary glint in his eyes, the shadows of the tree branches outside the window flickering on his face. For the past six months, he had kept a low profile. With enough points in the tower, he hadn't even considered going to sea. He had been quietly developing his strength, and apart from occasionally meeting up with Dora to enjoy some good food, he hadn't made any moves.
"I still need about a hundred elemental factors to break through. If I rely solely on meditation, it will take me several years. I can't afford to waste that time. The Challenge Cup only has a few years left. If I'm only at the first-class wizard apprentice level by then, I'm not guaranteed to succeed. If I want to develop faster, I still need to go to sea." Lin Wei rested his chin on his hand, his brows furrowed, deep in thought.
"I still have to go out. I reckon the people who want to harm me don't know that my strength has improved so much again." Lin Wei puffed out his chest confidently, a slight smile playing on his lips.
At this moment, near Lin Wei's manor, several wizard apprentices were huddled together whispering. The surrounding trees rustled in the wind, as if adding to the eeriness of the tense atmosphere.
"Damn it, is Lin Wei not planning to go to sea?" Gautama clenched his fists, veins bulging on his arms, and said with a face full of resentment.
"I checked this kid's points; he still has over a thousand. At this rate, that'll last him for over ten years." A wizard apprentice helplessly spread his hands and shrugged.
"So many? This kid earned more points in one trip than I've earned in decades!" A wizard apprentice was speechless, his mouth agape in astonishment.
"Don't boost their morale. I've already broken through to the level of a first-class wizard apprentice, with a thousand elemental factors in my brain. Killing this arrogant newcomer Lin Wei will be a piece of cake," Gautama said confidently, raising his chin slightly. "I'll show Dora who's truly superior."
Just then, Lin Wei's small manor opened, and he walked out yawning, looking bewildered, his steps somewhat dragging.
"Who are you all?" Lin Wei asked politely, tilting his head slightly as he looked at the unfamiliar group.
"Junior Brother Lin Wei, we came here specifically to wait for you," a wizard apprentice said with a smile, his face full of enthusiasm.
"Commander, are you waiting for me? Is there something you need?" Lin Wei asked, glancing at the group with a wary look in his eyes.
Apart from Gautama, whose expression was cold and whose eyes were like knives piercing Lin Wei, the other wizard apprentices all seemed perfectly normal.
"Junior brother, my name is Vic. You must be a knight. A few days ago, we stumbled upon a scroll of parchment that describes a hidden island. We've heard that the remains of a lost knight reside there," Vic said enthusiastically, gesturing with his hands in the air. "There's also an abandoned wizard's library on it. We'd like to invite you to join us on a sea voyage to explore."
"We're worried that the Knight's Relics are related to this Wizard's Library, and we can't crack it, so we urgently need your participation. We'll split the benefits equally, how about it?" Vic said with a smile, his eyes fixed on Lin Wei, looking tempting.
"Yes, Junior Brother Lin Wei, let's go together. We are all second-class wizard apprentices, and you are a powerful knight. I guarantee this journey will only be fruitful and without any setbacks," said one of the wizard apprentices, patting Lin Wei on the shoulder.
"We're just missing you," the last wizard apprentice said, his eyes filled with urgency.
"Forehead……"
Lin Wei was stunned for a moment. He knew in his heart that this so-called hidden island was definitely a burial place prepared for him by this group of people, and whether it actually existed was unknown. He lowered his head slightly, tapping his thigh lightly with his fingers, thinking of a way to deal with it.
Of the four people in front of him, apart from the cold-faced wizard, the others were all weaklings, not even first-class wizard apprentices. Lin Wei could completely ignore the fluctuations emanating from them.
"And who is this?" Lin Wei asked, looking at the wizard apprentice who hadn't spoken yet.
"His name is Gautama, you've probably heard of him. He's blessed with both water and fire, and is one of the most talented wizarding apprentices among us," Vic introduced enthusiastically, his face beaming with pride. "That's just his personality; he treats everyone the same, so don't be shy."
"Hello, junior brother, shall we go on a trip together?" Gautama forced a smile, his lips twitching slightly, and extended an invitation to Lin Wei.
"Hello." Lin Wei smiled with an honored expression, but his eyes revealed wariness.
Of this group, only Gautama is quite strong; in Lin Wei's opinion, he's probably already a first-class wizard apprentice.
However, none of these people said anything, which probably means they were the team's hidden trump cards, prepared to deal with him.
Lin Wei looked conflicted, his brows furrowed, and he kept twisting the hem of his clothes with his hands. Under the expectant gazes of the others, he slowly shook his head and said in a low voice, "I won't go. I need to reflect. There are too many courses at the academy right now, and I can't finish them all."
As soon as the words were spoken, it was Gautama and Vic's turn to be dumbfounded. Gautama's eyes widened, his mouth slightly open as if he wanted to shout but he held it back. Vic's body stiffened, his eyes staring straight at Lin Wei, as if he couldn't believe his ears.
Damn it, you hardly ever go to class, you spend all your time holed up in the manor doing nothing, and you don't participate in any club activities. Aside from occasionally flirting with Dora, Lin Wei almost never shows his face.
Gautama clenched his fists in anger, his knuckles turning white from the force, and the veins on the back of his hands bulging. He was about to rush up and beat Lin Wei up in the next second.
Gautama cursed inwardly, "Damn it, if this kid keeps coming into contact with Dora, I won't be able to cultivate. Dora is my inner demon, not only constantly motivating me to move forward, but also trapping me."
